The FR-1 installs and removes thread-on freewheels from Shimano®, Sachs Aris®, and Sun Race®.

  • Tough heat treated steel construction
  • 1" base fits a box-end wrench or bench vise
  • Thin wall construction clears hub locknuts

    • Note: This tool removes threaded freewheels which are common to older hub designs. It does not remove cassette lockrings on modern freehubs. For cassette removal, see the FR-5 or FR-5GC.

Simple and Necessary

Any rider doing there own maintenance will be needing to change a cassette at some point, this is one of the items needed. I have 2 that I have had for over 15 years. I have 2 so I can loan one out or put it in my race tool box. With any tool care is needed so you don't damage the part you are working on or the tool. This is a must have item for most riders.

Very poor quality

I had my Park FR-1 Freewheel Remover for less then one month and it broke the second time I used it.
